Almost harvest 2011!!

I am packing my bags today.  Heading to Amity for harvest this week.  The first of our fruit should be coming off the vine Thursday.  I will try to post pictures and updates as I can.  We were lucky enough to have good friends from our Minnesota days visiting on Saturday Oct 15th with Johanna & Don.  They shared some great shots with us.  Thanks, Jeff & Julie!  Here they are...stay posted....

Harvest 2010…surprise sunny skies

Pelos Sandberg Vineyard (PSV) managed to harvest under sunny skies this year.  It was touch and go with the weather, but starting on Sunday October 17th with Iota's latest calendar pick yet, and ending on Thursday October 21st with Iota and Big Table Farm pulling in the last of PSV's fruit, 16 tons of pinot noir were harvested from our vineyard in 2010.  Between Sunday and Thursday Big Table Farm,...

Harvest 2009

September 27th saw our young Dijon clones 777 and 667 harvested from Tonka and Oscar blocks along with our Pommard from Yiayia and Pappou blocks.  Total of just under 7 tons of pinot noir to work with in the winery.  High sugars this year on some lots, but overall quality very pleasing.  October 10th was the final harvest for iOTA Cellars, when our Ana block of Dijon 777 and our Abino Hill block o...

Harvest 2008-October 16th

First time for everything.  We picked our whole vineyard-Pelos Sandberg on the same day this year:  Thursday October 16th with the exception of 12 rows of Iota's Yiayia block Pommard that were hand picked late Wednesday October 15th by myself, Don, Pappou and Karen (my sister out to help for the big day)...  We pulled in over 14 tons total shared between Bergstrom Winery, Rex Hill and Iota Cella...

Harvest Sunsets

October update

Today is October 11th.  All our fruit has been picked!  We pulled 18 tons total out of the vineyard this year.  Iota Cellars processed 6 1/2 tons.  Pelos Sandberg Vineyard sold Sam Tannahill 4 1/2 tons for Rex Hill - A to Z - Francis Tannahill and Josh Bergstrom 7 tons for Bergstrom Winery.  Quite a haul.  Rain was an issue, but flavors are there.  We have high hopes for another good vintage.
